Oct / Nov / Dec 2025: Raising Money for Sadie’s Surgery
If you’ve been to Cheyne Ranch, you’ve probably met Sadie — our black Shepherd–Poodle–Lab mix who spends her days in her daytime play area beside the barn.
We adopted Sadie at just a few months old, she was the runt of her litter, the last of her siblings looking for adoption. She is over a year old now and full of goofy, bouncy joy, happy to greet every child, volunteer, and visitor who passes by
Now she needs our help. Sadie has a recurring growth in her ear that was surgically removed this summer, but it’s come back larger and more painful than before. That was fast - only 2 months of growth and this unusual growth is back. While it’s benign, it’s causing her real discomfort and puts her at risk for infection.
She needs a specialized surgery at the University of Florida Veterinary Hospital called a Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Osteotomy (TECA-BO). The cost is about $5,000, more than we can manage alone.
